Crescendo does not require any engineering or development time.
There are three easy steps to deployment.
Plan your content and content hierarchies in Box.
Create your Crescendo theme/s
Will you copy over existing files and folders, or will you create content? How will content be updated?
Will you have custom folder icons, colors, logos, etc?
Set user access and permission levels on Box. Ensure users have Box accounts and iPad
How to create Crescendo Cases
Crescendo Case is a Box folder that has been marked to be available in Crescendo – with all its subfolders and content.
You may have many folders in your Box account, but only need few of them to be available in Crescendo. Those will be your Crescendo Cases.
Create/name a folder* in the root folder** (All Files) of your Box account.
* You can create multiple Crescendo Cases.
** You can create Crescendo Cases outside of your root folder – ask our support team to activate this option for your license when needed.
Add the tag crescendo to your chosen folder. Alternatively, use [crescendo] as part of your folder description.
You only need to mark the top-level folder – its subfolders and content will be available in Crescendo automatically.
Crescendo Cases are just like any other folders – you can share them, invite collaborators, set permissions, copy, rename etc.
When you invite collaborator to a Crescendo Case, it keeps the crescendo tag or [crescendo] description. Your collaborator do not need to mark it as a Crescendo Case again – it will show up in his Crescendo app automatically.
To create Crescendo Cases you will need a Box account with at least Editor access to organize and tag your folders . Your collaborators may use a reduced access permission level (Viewer) that allows only for document viewing and downloading.
3. Proceed to copy, move, or create content within the Crescendo Case in Box. Crescendo supports folder hierarchy and sub-folders of Box. Organize your files as you see fit!
You are ready!
Congratulations. Your Box Folders are now set up – launch Crescendo on your iPad, login with your Box credentials and your Crescendo Cases will be available in the app.
When you start Crescendo for the first time, it will sync your Case(s) to the device. It may take up to several minutes, depending on your network performance. Once synced, Crescendo will only sync new and updated files.
TIP: By default Crescendo checks for content updates every 15 minutes. If you upload new files to your Crescendo Cases on Box and prefer Crescendo to sync immediately – use two-finger-double-tap gesture in the app. This will force immediate synchronization.
