Plan, Create then Curate and Distribute!

Crescendo for Microsoft Sharepoint Online does not require any engineering or development time.

There are three easy steps to deployment.

Plan your content
 and content hierarchies.

Create your
 Crescendo theme/s

Will you copy over existing
 files and folders, or will
 you create content?
 How will content be updated?

Will you have custom folder
 icons, colors, logos, etc?

Set user access and permission levels on Sharepoint. Ensure users have Sharepoint accounts and iPads

What is Crescendo Case?

Crescendo Case is a Sharepoint folder that has been marked to be available in Crescendo – with all its subfolders and content.

You may have many folders in your Sharepoint account, but only need few of them to be available in Crescendo. Those will be your Crescendo Cases.

Sharepoint Online can have very complex, hierarchical structure of sites and site collections, depending on the org structure and setup. For the purpose of this instruction it is assumed that you are using your default Team Site.

Most organisations will group Crescendo Cases within one or more sites or subsites for the production implementation. Do not hesitate to contact our support team to help you or your Sharepoint admin in setting Crescendo correctly for your specific site structure.

How to create a Crescendo Case?

Create/name a folder* in the root folder (Documents) of your team site account.
– You can create multiple Crescendo folders as needed.
Add [crescendo] – Crescendo in square brackets – as part of the name of your chosen folder. The added part will not be displayed by Crescendo  – it is only to mark this folder as a Crescendo Case.
Once mark the top-level folder this way – its subfolders and content will be available in Crescendo automatically.

Crescendo Cases are just like any other folders – you can share them, set permissions, copy, rename etc.

When you share a Crescendo Case, it still keeps its [crescendo] part of the name. Therefore your collaborator will not need to mark it as a Crescendo Case again – it will show up in his Crescendo app automatically.

To create Crescendo Cases you will need a at least Editor access to organize and tag your folders
. Your collaborators may use a reduced access permission level that allows only for document viewing and downloading.

3. Proceed to copy, move, or create content within the Crescendo Case in Sharepoint. Crescendo supports folder hierarchy and sub-folders of Sharepoint. Organize your files as you see fit!

 You are ready!

Congratulations. Your Sharepoint folders are now set up – launch Crescendo on your iPad, login with your Sharepoint credentials and your Crescendo Cases will be available.

When you start Crescendo for the first time, it will sync your Crescendo Case(s) to the device. It may take up to several minutes, depending on your network performance. Once synced, Crescendo will only sync new and updated files.

TIP: By default Crescendo checks for content updates every 15 minutes. If you upload new files on Sharepoint and prefer Crescendo to sync immediately – use two-finger-double-tap gesture in the app. This will force immediate synchronization.

Next step: Create your own Crescendo Theme!

You can easily modify the look and feel of your Crescendo: the background, colors
of various assets, files and folders icons and much more.
