Choose a Sharepoint Site to host Crescendo folders

You can use one of your existing Sharepoint Sites to host content for Crescendo. Or you can create a brand new site. Either option works.

Configure Crescendo to work with a Site

Once you’ve chosen a site to store content for Crescendo, follow these steps to ready the site:

  1. Log into the Crescendo Sharepoint Site Discovery web app
  2. Type the name of your Sharepoint site and click Search
  3. From the search results, click on the site
  4. Click Activate

Browser window with Crescendo Sharepoint Discovery tool opened. Arrow points to activate a Site.

Create a Crescendo Case

A Crescendo Case is a Sharepoint folder that's been marked to be available in Crescendo – with all of its subfolders and content.

You may have many folders in the Documents section of your selected Sharepoint site, but only need few of them in Crescendo. Just the high level folders you need will be your Crescendo Cases.

  • Step 1  – Create or pick an existing folder directly under Documents of your selected Sharepoint site.
  • Step 2 – Append [crescendo] to your folder name to mark the folder as Crescendo Case ( the app will not display [crescendo] part of the folder name). Mark the top-level folder only – its subfolders and content do not need to be marked.

  • Step 3 – Proceed to copy, move, or create content within the Crescendo Case on Sharepoint. Crescendo supports Sharepoint folder hierarchy. Organize your files as you see fit!

Share a Crescendo Case

Crescendo supports Sharepoint permissions. Collaborators that are granted access (including view only mode) to the Sharepoint Site documents will also see Crescendo Cases after logging in to Crescendo.

Your collaborator(s) do not need to re-mark the folder. Crescendo will work automatically.

You are ready!

Your Sharepoint folders are now set up. Launch Crescendo, login with your Sharepoint credentials and your new Crescendo Cases will show up.

When you start Crescendo for the first time on a mobile device, it will sync your Case(s) to the device. It may take up to several minutes to complete the data download, depending on your network performance. Once synced, Crescendo will thereafter only sync new and updated files.

Enforce immediate sync

By default Crescendo checks for content updates every 15 minutes. Use the pull to refresh gesture in the app to enforce immediate sync. You can also enter the Command Center and tap the Update button.

Next step: Create your own custom Crescendo Theme!

You can modify the look and feel of your Crescendo: the background, colors
of various UI elements, files and folders icons and much more. Learn how to do it with our Theming Guide.
